Eric grew up near Syracuse, New York and completed his undergraduate education at Boston University, earning a degree in Biology with a specialization in Marine Science in 1992. He later returned to Boston University, earning his Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 1999. Eric practiced PT in Connecticut and New York prior to making his home in Alaska in 2003. He enjoys tremendous support from his wife, Meghan, and daughters Isabella and Ji Ji.
Eric became certified as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in May of 2007 and has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 1995. He has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1996 and the National Strength and Conditioning Association since 1995.
Eric is an active member of the Anchorage community, participating in activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, golfing and sking. A recreational runner, Eric has participated in numerous races including Humpy’s Marathon (2003), the Marine Corps Marathon (2007), the Mayor’s Midnight Sun Half Marathon (2009), and the Lost Lake Breath of Life Race (2007-2011). Additionally, Eric is an avid hockey fan and can occasionally be seen lacing up his own skates as a member of an adult recreational team.
Eric’s areas of interest in PT include general orthopedics, sports, and post-surgical rehabilitation. His treatment philosophy for physical therapy is exercise-based, with a strong emphasis on functional strengthening in all planes of movement. He believes that strengthening with good alignment and proper mechanics leads to improved movement patterns and decreased pain. Eric’s primary goals as a physical therapist is to provide effective care by helping patients return to the activities they enjoy quickly and efficiently. He also highly values the importance of building strong patient-therapist relationships.
