Mike was born and raised in St Louis, Missouri. During college, he attended Missouri State University where he participated in NCAA Division I track and field and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2006. In the summer of 2009, Mike experienced his first taste of Alaska while interning as a student physical therapist at Rebound Physical Therapy. He later earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Washington University in St Louis in 2010 and promptly returned to Anchorage to join the Rebound team.
Mike is an active member of the Sports Section of the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Mike’s primary interests in physical therapy include sports and running injuries, foot and ankle biomechanics, wellness, orthopedics, and post-surgical rehabilitation.
Additionally, Mike is an avid runner, hiker, camper, and outdoor adventurer and can often be found on the trail, at the track, or in the local rock climbing gym. Mike has participated in many local running events since moving to Anchorage including the Mayor’s Midnight Sun Half Marathon (2011), the Lost Lake Breath of Life Race (2008, 2010, and 2011) and the Crow Pass Crossing (2011).
Mike’s treatment philosophy is based on safely and effectively training proper alignment and movement patterns to facilitate healthy function. Through this movement-based treatment approach, Mike strives to enhance each patient’s overall well-being and quality of life based on their individual goals. |
