Tarah grew up in a small farming community in central Oregon. Later on, she received her B.S. in Human Biology from the University of Montana in 2007 then attended the University of Colorado where she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2011. Accustomed to living in the mountains and enjoying beautiful scenery, life in Alaska seemed to be a natural next step for Tarah and she moved to Anchorage in August, 2011.
Tarah has been an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2010 and is also a member of the Orthopedic and Pediatric specialty sections. Her interests within physical therapy include general orthopedics, sport-specific therapy, preventative care, and biomechanical analysis. Outside of work, Tarah can be found skiing, kayaking, rafting, climbing, mountain biking, or hiking in the beautiful outdoors, enjoying all that Alaska has to offer.
Tarah’s treatment philosophy is based on strengthening through functional movement. Her treatment approach focuses on remediating muscle imbalances while correcting movement strategies and deficiencies. She believes that every patient is entitled to a pain-free, active lifestyle and attempts to improve the quality of life for her patients through sport- and activity-specific exercise and manual therapy.
